
The City County Drug Task Force reported the following, according to Captain A.M. Harris:
Sunday
At approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to a breaking and entering of a residence on Shelton Road in the Halifax area.
The victim, Mychael Lee Johnson Jr., was not cooperative with deputies about the breaking and entering and declined further investigation.
Deputies could smell the strong odor of raw marijuana and noticed several items of drug paraphernalia inside the living room area of the home.
Lieutenant C. Boden contacted the task force and Agent D.R. Radford applied for a search warrant, which was granted.
Agents seized marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia.
Radford cited Johnson, 21, of Shelton Road, for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He has a March 15 court date.
Monday
Shortly after noon, agents and the Scotland Neck Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Main Street.
Agent D.W. McKeel and Captain T. Parker of the police department had been sharing information about drug sales at this residence for several weeks.
McKeel applied for and was granted a search warrant.
During the search of the residence agents seized several items of drug paraphernalia.
McKeel cited Tony Andre Brown, 50, for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brown has a March 15 court date.
The task force and the Scotland Neck Police Department will continue to follow up on this residence.
