The Roanoke Rapids men's soccer team traveled to Elizabeth City Monday night to battle Northeastern.
Roanoke Rapids remained undefeated by beating Northeastern 3-1.

Post match comments from Roanoke Rapids head coach Craig Jean, "My players found a way to win against a very good team, after a 2 hour bus ride. Our first half was not terrible, but we were not ourselves. To come into halftime down a goal, I was unsure how we would respond in the second half. We came into the second half and dominated the last 30 minutes. All of our goals came off assists once again. Tyler Smith and Zach Carter stood out and played great in the back and kept us in the game when it wasn't going so great early on. Tyler Shearin got his first career goal on a corner to tie the game, and we took all the momentum from there. Thomas Merrit made some great saves tonight, but I was most impressed with his communication to the players and leadership late in the game. These boys have worked hard to be 3-0 and the team morale is in a good place right now, although we know we have 19 more regular season games to go."
Roanoke Rapids host KIPP high Wednesday night at Hoyle field.
