The JV Varsity Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets softball team hosted the Brunswick Academy Vikings Tuesday night at RRHS field.
The JV Jackets fell in the first game 0-13 to Brunswick Academy.

The Varsity Lady Yellow Jackets lost in extra innings in the non-conference game against the Brunswick Academy Vikings.
The Jackets were out hit 12-4 at the plate allowing 6 runs to score for the Vikings to their 4 runs.
Both teams were scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Jackets took a 3-0 lead. The Vikings answered with one run in top of the fifth and the Jackets followed with one run as well in the bottom of the fifth. Three outs away from the win in the top of the seventh inning the Jackets leading 4-1 allowed the Viking back into the game giving up 3 runs tying the game 4-4.
Brunswick followed with two more runs in the top of the 8th taking the lead. The Jackets added one run and had the tying run on third base, but ran out of gas, falling 5-6.
Brianna Allen pitched the entire eight innings on the mound for the Jackets allowing 12 hits, striking out 10 batters and only walking 2 batters.
At the plate for the Jackets there were only four hits.Brianna Allen, Lizzy Colston, Kaitlin Rogerson and a big triple by Abbi Carpenter.
