The Roanoke Rapids based RV Power Girls fastpitch travel softball team kicked off it's 2017 season this past weekend in the "Rocky Mount USSSA Swing Into Spring" tournament.
RV Power finished second after being seeded 4th, they defeated the High Voltage (seeded 5th) 8-0, then the Lady Blaze (seeded 1st) 13-0 in bracket play on Saturday.
The team returned Sunday and lost their first game 5-3 to Angels (seeded 2nd), then played the Lady Blaze in losers bracket and defeated them 15-3 sending the RV Power team to the championship. The girls lost 7-1 to the Angels finishing second in their first tournament of the season.
