The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets soccer team hosted the Bunn Wildcats Wednesday night at Hoyle field and recognized their 2017 seniors.
The Yellow Jackets lost the match 3-2.
Goals for Yellow Jackets were by Kristy Price and Ella King.
Post match comments from Jackets head coach Craig Jean "Kristy finished off the regular season of a great 4 year career at RRHS. I never would have imagined she would finish playing on the field for 80 minutes instead of in goal. She has been a lot of fun to watch over the years. Kristy has been in goal for us during some awesome playoff wins and tough playoff losses.
Erica Whitmire is another great athlete that came on to play for us this year. She caught on very fast and has been playing well. I thought she had a great game tonight- she played aggressive and made some very smart plays. She is a hard worker and has a positive attitude, and that is beneficial to any team. Hopefully, we will get another game or two in the playoffs before their careers as high school athletes are totally over. "
Senior night:
Kristy Price GK/#17- Parents are Dan and Renee Price. Kristy is a 4 year starter for the lady Jackets soccer team and has served as a team captain for this season. She was a member of the 2014 and 2015 Northern Carolina Conference Champions teams. She has a 4 year regular season record of 46-19-5 with a playoff record of 5-3. Currently this season she has 8 goals on the field and 208 saves in the goal. Kristy plans to attend Barton College in the fall and major in Business and Accounting.
Erica Whitmire #14- Parents are Jim and Tina Whitmire. This is Erica's first year playing for the lady Jackets soccer team. She will attend Pitt Community College in the Fall and major in Occupational Therapy.
