Chaloner baseball fall durning final three games of 2017

Chaloner closed their 2017 season Wednesday closing out a three game stint.

Monday May 1st Chaloner  at Southampton Middle School (Virginia)

 

Chaloner  4-2-7 Final 13

SMS         3-0-1 Final 4

Chaloner broke open a close game with a 7 run 3rd inning to defeat Southampton Middle School 13-4.

A.J. Strickland pitched a 2 hit complete game and striking out 3 batters.

Grayson Hargrave and Bennett Liverman each had a 2 run single. Caleb Elias had two singles, a walk, and scored 3 runs. A.J. Strickland had a single and two RBI's. Collin Clements had two singles and Avery Johnson had a single and a walk.

 

 

Tuesday May 2nd Chaloner at Faith Christian

Chaloner          0-0-2-0-1-0-0 Final 3

Faith Christian 1-1-0-0-3-2     Final 7

The Chaloner Jackets took their first and only lost of the season to Faith Christian in a hard fought 7-3 game.

Chaloner led 3-2 going into the bottom of the 5th behind the strong pitching of Bennett Liverman who only gave up 4 hits. Liverman struck out six and walked six.

Grayson Hargrave had two hits including a two run single. Bennett Liverman had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Caleb Elias had two singles while Collin Clements and Hunt Van Dam had one single each.

 

 

Wednesday May 3rd Chaloner at Halifax Academy

 

Chaloner               0-4-2-3-0-1-1 Final 11

Halifax Academy    0-0-0-0-1-0-1 Final  2

Chaloner defeated the Halifax Academy Vikings 11-2 behind the pitching of Russell Moore.

Moore pitched a complete game giving up 7 hits. Moore struck out 3 and only walked  1 batter.

Bennett Liverman led the 12 hit attack with 3 singles and a RBI. A.J. Strickland and  Caleb Elias had two hits and two RBI's each. Avery Johnson and John Conner each had a 2 run single. Russell Moore and Michael Hantz had a one run single each. Hunt Van Dam also added a single for the Jackets.

 

This was the last game of a great season for the Jackets who finished with a very good 18-1 record.
