The Roanoke Rapids High school Varsity Yellow Jackets Baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a 15-2 win at Franklinton on Wednesday night on the road.
Colby Warren earned the win on the mound pitching four innings giving up one hit and striking out eight batters. Cameron Rogerson pitched the last inning to finish off the win.
The Yellow Jackets scored their 15 runs on 15 hits. Hunter Connell led the way with four hits, followed by Marcus Allen with three, Cameron Rogerson with two, and Colby Warren, Josh Elias, Cameron Salmon, Tommy Bradley, Jake Rooker, and Peyton Jackson with one hit each.
Coach Mark Snead stated, "This was a complete game for our team. We were strong in all 3 phases of the game tonight. Colby and Cameron pitched well for us. The offense started strong and kept going throughout the game and our defense played well behind our pitchers. This is the type of game you want to finish the regular season with as you get ready for the playoffs."
With the win, the Jackets finishes the regular season with an 18-3 overall record and finished second in the 2A NCC with a 12-2 Northern Carolina Conference record.
The Yellow Jackets must now wait for the release of the NCHSAA Playoff brackets Monday May 8th to find out their first round opponent.
