
The Northwest Halifax Men's and Women's Track and Field team traveled to Franklinton High School on Thursday May 4th to compete in the Tar Roanoke Athletic Conference Championship.
Juniors Tyrell Manley and Jalen Mills of Northwest Halifax took the championship in the 100m dash by running a 10.89 for Manley and Mills running a 12.64. Q'Zeabian Rhea finished 5th running a 11.71 and Senior Marquis Manning took 6th running a 11.75.
Mills also took the 200m dash Championship running a 27.25.
The Northwest Halifax girls 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay took both championships in those races.
Junior Lawrence Coley took 2nd in the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles.
Sophomore Diamond Woodley took 1st in the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles.
Junior Sierra Davis took 2nd and 1st in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump.
Sophomore Shakira Dowtin finished 2nd in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump.
Senior Jiona Mills finished 2nd in the 400m.
Senior Naja Pace finished 3rd in the Discus and 1st in the Shot-Put. With Freshman Breionna Holt coming in 2nd in the Discus and 4th in the Shot-Put.
Northwest Halifax Women are the Regular Season Champion's as well as the Conference Champion.
