Five members of the Roanoke Rapids High school Yellow Jackets men's golf team played their two days of the 2A State Championships at Beacon Ridge Country Club.
After two rounds and 36 holes of golf, The Roanoke Rapids team finished 8th out of twelve teams. Clifton Hunter was the highest Jacket finishing tied for 35th with 23 over two day par, Spencer Hargrove finished tied in 40th with a over two day 25 par, Jackson Gowen finished tied for 52nd with a two day over 31 par, Thomas Merritt finished tied for 57th with a two day over 33 par and Chase Johnson substituted round two for Trey West and shot an 89 over 17 par and West/Johnson finished in 64th with a two day over 35 par.
There were 84 golfers and 12 teams in the 2A NCHSAA State Championship.
