The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings softball team beat Lawrence Academy 7-6 Saturday afternoon to earn the title of 2017 1A NCISAA State Softball Champions.
Sydney Smith had four strikeouts on the mound for Halifax.
While at the plate for Halifax, Candice Smith had a two run homerun, Ashton Garner had in the park homerun off of overthrows and a double, Drew Rose, Emerson Poole and Karen Alston each had a double and Ashlynn Liles had two singles.Drew Rose, Candice Smith, Sydney Smith and Ashton Garner named to All-State team.
