Three Roanoke Rapids High school Yellow Jackets teammates were selected to play baseball this Summer over in Virginia in the Under 19 Dixie Majors baseball Mecklenburg team out of South Hill.
Josh Elias, Cameron Rogerson and Logan Jackson all from Roanoke Rapids help make up the team of 18 players from Virginia and North Carolina and is coached by Todd Seate.
The Mecklenburg team is hosting the 2017 Virginia Dixie Majors Baseball Tournament at South Hill, which kicked off Last night July 7th.
Friday nigh the Mecklenburg team won 1-0 against the Buckingham team in the bottom of the 8th inning to advance to game 2 on Sunday at 4pm.
Mecklenburg had three hits with Logan Jackson having tow of those and Josh had the other along with a sacrifice bunt.
Cameron Rogerson pitched innings 7 and 8 earning the game win.
