U15 baseball all-stars improve to 2-0 in State tourney

The Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association Under 15 All-Stars won their second game of the 2017 North Carolina State Babe Ruth Tournament at Guy Smith Stadium in Greenville Saturday.

With the combination of a strong defensive team and pitching from Colin Long, Grayson Hargrave and Rick Lee, Roanoke Rapids beat Warren County 18-3.
 
Long pitched three innings facing 11 batters with 5 strikeouts giving up 2 hits, 1 run and had only one walk.  Hargrave faced 9 batters with 2 strikeouts giving up one hit, 1 run and 5 walks.  Lee came in to relieve Hargrave in the 5th inning facing 1 batter.  The defense put out two baserunners ending the game with the batter still at bat.
 
Offensive leaders for the Roanoke Rapids All-Stars were Colin Long with a Triple, two Doubles, two runs and four RBI's, Ayden Woodall with a Double, a Single, three runs and two RBI's, Andre Stewart with two Singles, two runs and one RBI, Trevor Harrison with a Double, a Single, one run and one RBI, Rick Lee with a Double, two runs and two RBI's, Ethan Dixon with a Single, two runs and two RBI's, Ethan Vincent with a Triple, two runs and one RBI, TJ High with a Double and one RBI, Chris Hunter with a Single and two runs, Bennett Liverman with a Single and one run, Jacob Deberry with a Single and one run.
 
The Roanoke Rapids U15 All-Stars will face Pitt County Sunday at 3:00 PM.
