Jackets Cross-Country results from September 13th

The Roanoke Rapids Cross Country teams hosted a Northern Carolina Conference meet at the Roanoke Rapids Lake Park and Canal Trail on Wednesday afternoon.

With all the conference teams competing this was a big test for the Yellow Jackets.  The Men's team passed the test with flying colors as they finished 1st overall in team points ahead of 2nd place South Granville.  They also had the 1st place Male finisher in Jacob Bouchard.  The Women's team also had a strong showing as they finished 2nd overall in team points just behind a strong Granville Central team.

The top Men's finishers for RRHS were:
Jacob Bouchard 1st place
Kris Harris 8th place
Eric Baird 9th place
Braxton Harrell 12th place
Riley Mills 13th place
Nathan Dixon 15th place
Ethan Dixon 17th place

The top Women's finishers for RRHS were:
Caitlin Bobbitt 4th place
Morgan Davis 5th place
Brittany Milan 6th place
Kate Pleasant 7th place
Katie Moseley 14th place
Alexis Karns 15th place

Coach Mark Snead stated, "I am really pleased with both teams this week.  The men's team bounced back from finishing 2nd last week and won our home meet.  They ran really well and dropped some serious time today.  I am also happy for the women's team with their 2nd place finish.  To have a close meet with a strong team like Granville Central is something to be proud of.  Our girls have worked hard and it is really paying off.  Now we have to get back out on the practice trail and continue to push ourselves to get better each week.   With the makeup of this group of runners I know that won't be a problem."

RRHS will next run in another NCC meet at Oxford Webb High School on Wednesday September 20.
