"So I want to take a minute and brag on 2 great football teams. This has NOTHING to do with an individual. The Wayne Christian Eagles played Halifax. Again both teams and everyone in attendance stood to show respect for our Flag and National Anthem. However it was what happened after the game that made me cry and touched me. After our game we meet at the 50 yard line, we mix both teams together, take a knee and pray. Last night as we gathered I had a chance to speak. I told the other team (Halifax) about our teammate Will Gibson. I explained his incredible fight against cancer. Then I started to pray out loud for both teams. I stared to cry on a field full of tough, strong men. Immediately after I finished several of their players and coaches personally approached me to ask about Will and tell me they would be praying for him. I have no idea who their #8 (I think that was his number it's hard to see through tears) but he spent several minutes talking to me about Will. I doubt any of the folks who will read this are from Halifax but if you know someone from there please pass this on. I don't know if any of the young men from last nights game will ever play in the NFL but in my opinion they are all real professionals. Thank you to all the coaches who lead and teach these highly impressive young men. There is so much more to football than football."
