
FOREST, Va. – Sophomore Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy) was honored by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference as its Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
Williams and the Yellow Jackets wrapped up a 2-0 week which saw them getting wins over Randolph 67-40 and the ODAC's top team, Lynchburg 71-59. This is Williams' ninth Player of the Week selection in her career.
Williams played a critical role in the win at Randolph, scoring 21 points and pulling in 16 rebounds as well as blocking one shot. Against Lynchburg, she scored 35 points and hauled down 15 rebounds while tallying four blocks, sending out four assists and grabbing three steals.
The sophomore is the conference leader in points per game (24.6), rebounds per game (18.4), offensive RPG (7.1), defensive RPG (11.3), Blocks per game (4.1), total points (394), total rebounds (295), total offensive rebounds (114), total defensive rebounds (181), total blocks (66).
She is also the national leader in points per game, rebounds per game and blocks per game. She has scored 15 double-doubles in 16 games, which is good for third-most in the country.
Randolph-Macon returns to the floor tomorrow at 2:00 PM against Shenandoah in Crenshaw Gymnasium.
