The Roanoke Rapids High School Yellow Jackets Wrestling Team became the 2A Northern Carolina Conference Wrestling Tournament Champions Saturday at the HIVE.
Roanoke Rapids defeated scored 177 points to defeat South Granville 142.5, Bunn 139, Louisburg 77, Northern Vance 44, Granville Central 43, Webb 34 and Southern Vance 21. The following are the results:

Two second place: Aaron Purser and Carter Abram.
Six third place: Riley Mills, Daniel Lyons, Jacob Bouchard, Aaron Hunter, Jermey Clemmons, and Peyton Anderson and One fourth place Logan Vaughan.
Post tournament comments from Jackets head coach DA White, "It was a great team effort. They really wanted a Champions this year and they worked hard to get it.
We also honored Two of our seniors this year Nathan Dixon and Carter Abram. They should have good memories after today. We qualified for the State duals this year and will travel to the number one seed in the Central Carolina Conference. This will take place Tuesday around 6:00 pm."
