The Chaloner Middle School Jackets baseball team won its first regular season game of 2018 with a victory over Faith Christian Friday at Faith Christian in Rocky Mount.
The Jackets broke open a close game with a seven run third inning and a seven run fifth inning to decide the game.
The leading hitters for the Jackets were: Austin Geary with 2 hits including a double and 3 RBI's, Jon Lewis Temple with a double and 3 RBI's, and Caleb Elias with a double and 3 RBI's. Wade Jenkins had a two run single and Braxton Hammock had a one run single.
The Jackets were lead by the strong pitching arms of Jon Lewis Temple (pitching 3 1/3 innings) and Drew Williams (who finished the game). Each pitcher struck out 3 batters.
