The Roanoke Rapids High School JV Baseball team came up short in 6 innings to Bunn at home Friday with a score or 2-1.
AJ Strickland started for the Jackets on the mound giving up 3 hits in 4 innings with no earn runs. Trevor Harrison came in relief for the last 2 innings allowing only 2 hits with no earned runs.
The Jackets ended up with 2 costly errors that accounted for both of the Wildcats runs.
Offensively the Jackets struggled at the plate with only 5 hits and 7 strike outs. Trevor Harrison and Marshall Keeter had 2 hits each and Josh Miller accounted for the 5th.
Post game comments be head coach Aubrey Coker stated, "We struggled at the plate and need to more aggressive and stop looking at so many pitches. As a team we had costly errors and will continue to work at practice to correct mistakes and work on the little things that win ball games."
