The Roanoke Rapids High School Yellow Jackets Varsity Baseball team lost at home to JF Webb by a score of 12-10 on Tuesday night.
Carson Neal, Ethan Vincent, and Bennett Liverman pitched for the Yellow Jackets with Liverman taking the loss.
Collecting hits for RRHS were Carson Neal, Aaron Jackson, Cameron Medlin, Peyton Jackson, Caleb Johnson, Bennett Liverman, Brandon Collier, and Ethan Vincent.
Post game coach Mark Snead stated, "This was a tough loss for us. We got up early and didn't put them away. Webb fought hard and played a good game. We finally woke up the last couple of innings, but we couldn't complete the comeback. We talked about staying focused for a full seven innings after the game. I told the guys that we have to take this as a learning moment and get better from here. Life is full of adversity, but you can't make excuses. You have to go out and work harder to get what you want. Now we have to get to work at practice."
With the loss, RRHS is now 6-4 overall and 5-2 in the NCC. The Yellow Jackets will play in the Ray-Avery Easter Tournament at Ayden-Grifton High School over the Easter Break.
