Fingerprint evidence collected during an October vehicle breaking and entering led to another person being charged in the crime, according to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
Taeune Demond Johnson surrendered to the police department around 11 a.m. Thursday to face charges in the October crime.
Officer D. Bybee served the 18-year-old warrants for breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $5,000 bond and June 6 court date.
Chief Chuck Hasty said the police department got the results identifying the print collected from the vehicle as Johnson’s last month.
Investigator J.K. Davis obtained the warrant on Johnson following the print analysis, Hasty said in a statement.
The charges stem from a report filed in October after a homeowner confronted two people breaking into their vehicle.
The people fled and Master Officer Jamie Hardy and his dog Storm were deployed.
Ramon Luis Rodriguez, 16, was later located in a vehicle and arrested and charged with breaking/entering of motor vehicle, larceny, possession of stolen goods and resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer.
Officers also arrested passenger Al Randolph Thomas Jr., 25, of Murfreesboro, for an outstanding order for arrest and possession of schedule VI.
