The RRHS baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a 12-2 loss at Bunn on Thursday night.
Bennett Liverman started on the mound and took the loss. He was relieved by Cameron Salmon and Aaron Jackson.
Leading Hitters for RRHS were Colin Long, Aaron Jackson, Cameron Salmon, and Ethan Vincent.
Coach Mark Snead stated, "This was our 6th game in 8 days. That is a tough stretch for any team, and we just ran out of gas tonight. Now we have to regroup, get our pitchers back up to full strength and recharge ourselves for the upcoming playoffs. Overall, I like the way we are playing right now. We have been getting good pitching, strong defense, and solid hitting. We just have to fine tune some things at practice and put it all together against whoever we play in the first round."
The Yellow Jackets finish the regular season at 13-9 overall and 11-5 in the conference.
RRHS finishes 3rd in the conference and will make the NCHSAA 2A State playoffs. The location and time of the 1st round playoff game will be determined once the NCHSAA releases the brackets on Monday.
