Halifax Academy soccer team finishes the regular season on a high note

The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings soccer team wrapped up the regular season Friday with a win in New Bern against The Epiphany School by a score of 7-0.

"The girls came tonight ready to play with back-to-back conference wins to finish the season 7-8 overall and 5-5 in conference play," said coach Time George. "The match tonight was very physical and our girls didn't back down or get frustrated. It's good to see that they could stay focused and not let the distraction of rough play and maybe a few bad calls get in their heads, Voach George added.

Whitney George led the scoring with a "Hat Trick" of 3 goals to go along with 2 assists. Abby George had two goals and one assist. Kate Starnes played a good game at midfield with 4 assists and a couple good looks at goal. Abbey Eason worked hard and earned the first goal of her career as well.

The Lady Vikings also finished the season with back-to-back shutouts which feels good going into the NCISAA 1A State Playoffs beginning next week.

Seeding for the playoff come out Sunday with play beginning next week.
