The Roanoke Valley Under 12 girls softball All-stars earn a second place finish Sunday in the 2018 Tarheel League District 7 tournament in Currituck.
The U12 Valley team had a rematch against Cashie and struggled in the championship game and fell 15-3 to. A combination of Cashie being very eager to play, and the Valley girls making a few errors led to the lopsided defeat.
With the tournament being a double elimination and this was the Roanoke Valley's first lost There would be a second Championship game.
In game two, it was a much better showing at the start that went back and forth until the bottom of the 5th, Cahie got hot at the plate and went up 12-6, a deficit the U12 Valley All-stars simply couldn't over come.
The Roanoke Valley U12 All-stars were still invited and are going to the 2018 Tarheel League State Tournament in Shelby NC and the Coaches would like to thank the girls for all the hard work and effort they put in to raise their playing level to a height that gave them the chance to even be in a position to play for the Championship.
The would also like to thank all the Parents for their support and help in encouraging the girls to give all the effort they could muster.
