Roanoke Rapids head coach Craig Jean post match comments,"It is extremely disappointing to be that close, fight that hard and see multiple kids play so well and lose it with 5 to go in the second 10 minute OT. We were in a position to win both games against them this season and just came up short and didn't finish the job. Due to a weather cancellation early in the season- having to play them away and home 4 days apart was an extremely tough task. Science and Math is one of the better 2A teams out there. To be able to play 180 highly competitive minutes with them shows we are capable of playing with anyone. Thomas Merritt played out of his mind during regulation and made tremendous saves. Gray Draper made some great decision plays under pressure that show how good he is becoming. Euzzi Pineda stepped up big for us and had one of his better games of the season. Truely, all my players had a good, solid night. Again, these losses hurt. Especially when we are so close. However, playing our toughest opponents to close out our regular season will have us ready for anybody we see in the playoffs. "
