Halifax Academy's Cross Country runner Jackson Harris is named Carolina Independent Conference RUNNER of the YEAR.
The CIC Cross Country Championship Meet was held Friday at Halifax Academy.
Jackson Harris took first place honors with the boys' team finishing 3rd overall. Rounding out the scoring were Larry West, Thomas Garrett, Jacob Harris, Will Cooke. Kris Carter, and Cooper Davis.
Season All Conference runners were named:
Jackson Harris is All Conference and the Runner of the Year.
Other HA runners who earned All Conference were Larry West, Thomas Garrett, and Kate Starnes. Will Cooke and Whitney George were conference Honorable Mention.
Additionally, the Girls' team fared well placing 4th overall. Kate Starnes, Whitney George, Abby George, Brittany Milan,and Holly Forsht led the team.
Halifax Academy Cross Country head coach Wendy Starnes stated, "Again, this was a strong race for our teams and several runners were able to earn season or personal records. I am very proud of our whole team. Also, we appreciate all the family and friends who came out to show their support. We will compete in our state meet next week in Greensboro, NC."
