Post match comments by Roanoke Rapids head coach Craig Jean, "We knew going in that tonight was going to be tough. Bunn was undefeated with 17 wins, sitting 1 game up in 1st place in the Northern Carolina Conference and had 8 senior starters celebrating their senior night. Bunn also has a forward with 44 goals on the season that nobody has been able to stop all year. Our game plan going in was to take him away and make somebody else on that team beat us. Gray Draper was given the task of marking him, and that is what gave us a chance to win the game. We ran a 41 defense- 4 backs and 1 marker that would have made Coach Frazier proud tonight. Carson Neal had a monster second half offensively (3 goals). This was by far the best 40 minutes I have ever seen him play against top competition. My entire team seemed to grow up tonight. We were under tremendous pressure, like we have been in so many games this year, but this time we were the team that held our composure, didn't retaliate, didn't panic and didn't make any excuses. They just stepped up and got the job done for 80 minutes and it lead to our biggest win of the season and of the last 3 years. Even though Gray Draper did the marking and Carson Neal and Tyler Smith scored the goals, everybody on the field was on point tonight. With the playoffs starting next weekend, my kids are definitely excited and ready to go. To have 15 regular season wins is a heck of an accomplishment and very hard to do, especially in this conference. We now will look forward to when the brackets are released next week to find out who we will face and start to prepare for that matchup. I can tell you that we are in no way ready for this season to be over."
