Halifax Academy Cross Country boys and girls Cross Country teams earned NCISAA 1A State runner-ups Friday.
The Halifax Academy Vikings teams ran in the 1A NCISAA State Meet at Hagan Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, NC.
The boys were led by Jackson Harris who finished 2nd overall en route to winning All State honors. Also leading the team and taking All State honors were Thomas Garrett and Larry West. Rounding out the Vikings' scoring were Will Cooke, Jacob Harris , Kris Carter, and Ted Fleming. A tie break had to be used to determine 1st and 2nd places.
The girls took 2nd place overall and placed two runners on the 1A All-State team. Leading the way for the Vikings were Whitney George and Kate Starnes Both were All-State recipients. Also, running well for the Vikings were Abby George, Holly Forsht, Brittany Milan, Maddie Suiter, and Chloe Alston.
Many runners earned personal records. This was a strong finish to an excellent season!
