Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith confirmed his investigators will look into a fire which was called in around 11 p.m. Friday.

He said he will also consider whether to notify the State Bureau of Investigation for a further probe of the fire, which was reported on Sandy Lane in Garysburg.
Gaston Fire and Rescue Chief Ed Porter Jr. said in a statement the department was dispatched just after 11 Friday night and the home was found engulfed.
The roof and walls were found fallen into the residence. No occupants were found on the scene and the home appeared to be unoccupied.
Smith said it appeared there was no power to the house.
Firefighters contained the fire within 10 minutes and remained on scene for more than two hours performing overhaul operations.
Porter said in the statement the probable cause of the fire is undetermined but is suspicious.
Twenty-five firefighters from Gaston Fire and Rescue responded to the call.
Firefighters from Garysburg also responded to the scene.
Northampton County EMS was on the scene performing firefighter rehab. Gaston Police were also on the scene.
