Heels crush Bulldogs

The North Carolina Tar Heels football team returned to the field Saturday on the heels of a heartbreaking one point loss to the rival Duke Blue Devils last week.

Someone was going to have to pay the price, and unfortunately for the Citadel Bulldogs they were next on the schedule.

The Heels scored early and often to win easily by a score or 41-7.  Roanoke Rapids High School Alumni and Red Shirt Junior Tar Heel Nazair Jones had a workmanlike day with six total tackles including three solo tackles.  Those numbers would have been higher, however, he and many of the starters did not play much of the second half as the Tar Heels rolled up the score.

Senior running back T.J. Logan was the star of the game with a touchdown catch and a 100 yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the first play of the second half.

Head Coach Larry Fedora stated, "We knew they were a really good football team, that they would control the clock and that our guys were going to have to steal a few possessions. Defensively, we did that."

Up next for the Tar Heels is a Thanksgiving weekend showdown with ACC rival NC State.  The Heels are still hoping for an opportunity to play in the ACC Championship game for the second consecutive season.  They would need to defeat NC State and hope for Virginia to upset first place Virginia Tech.
