Let's paint the town Red 5K Color run/Walk

A Better Chance, A Better Community (ABC2) World Changers in partnership with Rural Health Group NC announces the launch of the "Let's Paint the Town Red" HIV/AIDS.

Awareness campaign in anticipation of  HIV/AIDS 5K Color Run/Walk, Documentary screening and taking place December 3, 2016 with registration at 8am and festivities kicking off at 10am.

The 5K Color Run/Walk, Community Health & Resource Festival, and Documentary Screening make up a huge part  our annual fundraiser events involving the generous participation of volunteers, corporate sponsors and various HIV/AIDS & Health agencies.  Sponsors like Aetna, RV-CHI, Stop Talking HIV, HCC, Weldon Police Department, Blacktopia, NC AIDS Action Network,PFLAG, A Positive Tomorrow etc.

ABC2 is seeking participation in the 5K Color Run/Walk and vendors for the Health Festival. The 5K Color Run Registration is $30/person. Group rates are available. Route: Starts at Weldon High School  to the RV Fitness Trail @ Halifax Community College where the Health & Resource fair is.

The documentary screening will feature the stars of the BRTBTV Webseries 3 Siders (Brandon, Kiko, and Macen) and a community photovoice opportunity. Ending the Saturday festivities with a Meet & Greet Soiree featuring DJ Corey and the stars of 3 Siders.

All the proceeds from this event will support Rural Health Group, Inc. to increase the number of free HIV/AIDS testing sites throughout rural Eastern NC, access to health equity, and development of HIV/AIDS support groups, transportation

Eastern NC consist of 7 of the Top 10 counties for HIV/AIDS cases in the entire State and North Carolina is still in the top 10.  ABC2 needs ample funding to continue our efforts to bridge the gap in our rural, underserved, low-income, disadvantaged, impoverish communities impacted by this disease. 

The Let's Paint the Town Red campaign will be more than just a fundraiser.  It’s a platform will help us spread the word about HIV/AIDS, break the stigma on HIV/AIDS, increased the number of people getting tested by 5o% in our communities, an urgent need in Halifax County and Eastern NC.

They need your continued support to increase awareness and to make this event a huge success for our region.
