Chargers and Vikings split ships in TEAM MIKE tourney

The 1st Annual "Team Mike" Middle School basketball Tournament crowns two champions Thursday night.

The day two events tipped of at 4 PM with the Lady Chaloner Yellow Jackets beating Gaston College Prep. 20-9.

 

Followed with the Wyatt Middle school boys beating Gaston College Prep. 50-7.

 

In the first championship of the night tipped of with William R. Davie beating Weldon Middle  51-11.

 

The girls 2016 Team Mike All Tournament team:

Gaston College Prep - Zephaniah Wilkins

Chaloner Middle - Logan Abram

 

Weldon Middle - Asia Scott

William R. Davie - Azari Settles

William R Davie MVP - KK Squire

 

 

 

 

The final game of the night, Weldon Chargers beat William R. Davie Vikings 64-27

 

The boys 2016 Team Mike All Tournament team:

 

Gaston College Prep. - Amarie Crawford

 

Wyatt Middle - Zykeem Fields

 

William R. Davie - Lance Woolfolk

 

Weldon Middle - Jabeem Parker

Weldon Middle MVP - Quentin Richardson

 

Team Mike raised funds for Team Mike Newsome Scholarships for High school senior athletes at Halifax Academy, KIPP High and Roanoke Rapids.

 

A Special Thanks goes out to Roanoke Rapids Athletic Director Eric McDaniels and Roanoke Rapids Basketball coach Tyler Snyder for the use of Roanoke Rapids gym on such a short notice.
