The Northampton County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into a murder which occurred this morning outside Severn on Vaughn Creek Road.
Sheriff Jack Smith said the name of the victim, who was shot, is not being released until notification of next of kin.
He said the shooting occurred between 3:30 to 4 this morning at a residence about a mile outside Severn
Smith said motive has not been established and investigators continue to interview possible witnesses as well as a person of interest. He declined to name the person of interest but said he does expect an arrest to be made soon.
