Roanoke Rapids JV men's soccer team hosted Henderson Collegiate High Wednesday night at Hoyle field to a 4-4 tie.
Goals for the Roanoke Rapids were by: Logan Walton, Gray Draper, Seth Bohanon with 2.
Assists for Roanoke Rapids were by: Tyler McDonald, Jake VanDam.
AJ Pearson played in goal for RR had 6 saves
Roanoke Rapids head coach Craig Jean post match comments, "The purpose of our JV game was to get our younger players and players that are new to soccer some game experience. It helped me evaluate and see what we are capable of and what we need to improve on. Although I am not thrilled about giving up the goal late to tie the game, I think this was a game that these kids will learn a lot from and become better players because of it. We need to stop forcing everything straight ahead as fast as we can get there, work on our spacing and runs without the ball. AJ Pearson did a great job in goal for a guy that has only been playing soccer for 3 weeks. He made some very good decisions when we played back to him in certain pressure situations. Logan Walton had very good recovery speed and he hit some very nice set pieces tonight. Gray Draper continues to impress, and reminds me a lot of his brother, which is a good compliment."
