
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:
Tuesday January 10, 2017
• Zatez Shermal Perry, 17, was arrested and charged at approximately noon with breaking/entering, two counts larceny after breaking/entering, possession of stolen goods and damage to property.
He was charged after he surrendered to Investigator G. Williams.
He received a $10,000 bond and February 15 court date.
These charges stem from an investigation by Williams of a breaking/entering of a residence on Madison Street in December.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
Wednesday January 11, 2017
• Kendrell Robinson, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited at approximately 10:30 a.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He was released until his February 10 court date.
• Jasmine Latrice Chambliss, 21, of Gaston, was cited at approximately 10:30 a.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She was released until her February 10 court date.
Master Officer R. Ball responded to Walmart for a larceny and learned Robinson and Chambliss allegedly took items.
• Richard Lee Clay, 38, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 4:30 p.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $2,000 bond and January 20 court date.
Lieutenant P. Parks responded to Walmart for a larceny and learned Clay allegedly took items. Officer S. Blythe assisted.
Thursday January 12, 2017
• Kimberly Nichole Vandyke, 30, of Macon, was cited at approximately 10:30 a.m. for possession of drug paraphernalia and released until her March 24 court dates.
Parks found Vandyke in possession of the paraphernalia while serving an outstanding civil process.
• Linwood Charles Tanner, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 11:15 a.m. with disorderly conduct, assault on a female and communicating threats.
He received a $5,000 bond and February 17 court date.
Sgt. D. Jenkins responded to a disturbance on West Tenth Street near Faye Street and learned Tanner allegedly assaulted a female. Others stepped in to stop the assault.
Officer J. Hardy and Blythe assisted.
• Tayvon Earl Moody, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with trespassing, injury to property, communicating threats and possession of cocaine.
He received a $10,000 bond and February 2 court date.
Ball located Moody near Henry Street and Seventh Street on outstanding warrants. During a search he was found in possession of the narcotics.
• Rama Krishna Medicharla, 24, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited at approximately 3 p.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He was released until his February 13 court date.
Hardy responded to Walmart for a larceny and learned Medicharla allegedly took items.
• Jordan Lee Pickerall, 21, of Jackson, was arrested and charged with larceny, possession of stolen goods, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He received a $15,500 bond and March 1 court date.
Hardy responded to Walmart for a larceny and learned Pickerall allegedly took items.
During a search of by Officer M. Hunsucker and Halifax County Detention Officer A. Boyd concealed narcotics were found.
• Contina Marie Ponton Evans, 44, of Halifax, was arrested and charged at approximately 5:15 p.m. for driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and expired registration.
She was released to a responsible party until her March 24 court date.
Parks conducted a traffic stop at Oak Street near Willow Street and determined Evans was impaired and her license was revoked.
