A home alarm system helped Enfield police catch a man while he was still rifling through items following a break-in Tuesday afternoon.
Enfield police Chief Tyree Davis said the man, Lamont Dorian Hilliard, 34, who lives in town, was still there when Officer Drew Rackley and Lieutenant McCullon Wiggins arrived at the Busbee Court residence around 1 p.m.
In a statement Davis said the officers discovered shattered glass near the side door. The officers entered and arrested Hilliard without trouble.
He was charged with felony breaking and entering and felony attempted larceny. He received $2,500 bond and an October 11 court date.
