The men's Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets soccer team traveled to Henderson Wednesday evening to face Southern Vance in a conference match.
RRHS beat Southern Vance 2-2 and improved to 8-1 over all and 1-1 in the 2A Northern Carolina Conference.
Roanoke Rapids goals were by: Carson Neal, Cameron Wilson, Eulices Pineda and assist by Chase Johnson, Carson Neal.
Thomas Merritt had 11 saves in goal.
Post match comments by Roanoke Rapids head coach Craig Jean, "We overcame a lot of obstacles tonight. I am proud of my team's effort and heart. It is tough playing 3 straight games in a row. They fought through and got us a much needed conference win."
