
The Roanoke Valley Under 15 girls softball all-stars team is headed to the 2018 District 7 Tarheel League tournament Championship game after two opening day wins Friday in Currituck.
The Roanoke Valley team beat Cashie in game one 13-1 in five innings.
Kylie Wade pitched two innings and Cassidy Dickens pitching three innings.
MaKayla Pair's single and Grand Slam Homerun led the Valley's offense and Caitlin Bobbitt had a triple. Kylie and Rylie Was along with Cassidy Dickens, Gracie Mason hit two singles each. Lexie Coley, Meghan Beam and Lily Chappell had one single each.
Next the Roanoke Valley All-Star team beat Ahoskie 10-6 to advance to the Championship.
Cassidy Dickens pitched the whole game for the Valley team facing 34 batters, striking out four and only two walks.
Caitlin Bobbitt and MaKayla Pair each produced a dinger homerun while Dickens had a single and a double. Gracie Mason had two singles while Lily Chappell, Kylie and Rylie Wade had one single each.
The Roanoke Valley All-star team will play in the 2018 District 7 Tarheel League Championship Sunday at 11:30 AM.
