2016 Valley Cheer Jam awards

Southeast Halifax High school cheerleaders

The 6th Annual Roanoke Valley Cheer Jam hosted by The Rock: home of Valley Cheer and Myrick School of Dance was held this past Saturday, November 19th at 10:00 AM in the gymnasium at Roanoke Rapids High School.

There were 13 local cheerleading teams performing amazing routines, including an exhibition by NC Wesleyan Cheerleaders. The following awards were presented at the end of the competition.

 

1.   Best Jumps awarded to Chaloner Middle School

2.   Tricky Pyramid awarded to Valley Cheer Jr. Gold

3.   Tricky Pyramid awarded to Roanoke Rapids Varsity Midget

4.   Best Choreography awarded to Valley Cheer Sr. Diamonds

5.   Loudest Cheer awarded to Southeast Halifax High School

6.   Most Energetic awarded to Halifax Academy JV/Varsity.Little

7.   Most Creative Roanoke Rapids Midgets

8.   Best Synchronization awarded to Halifax Academy JV

9.   Best Stunt Sequence awarded to Valley Cheer Jr. Gold

10. Best Tumbling awarded to Valley Cheer Sr. Diamonds

11. Best Basket toss awarded to Chaloner Middle School

12. Best Dance awarded to Halifax Academy Varsity

13. Most Entertaining awarded to Valley Cheer Mini Crystals

14. Best All Round awarded to Valley Cheer Gold

15. Tightest Motions awarded to Halifax Academy Varsity

16, Most Confident awarded to Roanoke Rapids Midget

 

 

Specialty Awards:

1.  Most Spirited Team awarded to Roanoke Rapids Midges

2.  Crowd Pleaser awarded to Valley Cheer Mini Crystals

3.  Best Uniform awarded to Halifax Academy JV

4. Most Sportsmanship awarded to Southeast Halifax High School

5. Judge 1 Choice overall awarded to Halifax Academy Varsity

6. Judge 2 Choice overall awarded to Southeast Halifax High School

7. Judge 3 Choice overall awarded to Chaloner Middle School

 

Valley Cheer Jam organizer and owner of the Rock: home of Valley Cheer and Myrick School of Dance Heather Merritt stated, Such a fun day. It is always important to celebrate the sport of cheerleading. Special thanks to Roanoke Rapids High School athletic director coach MacDaniels for the use of the facility also to Tequila recording studio for providing the music for the event, a;so to all of our parents who helped us setup and cleanup and a special thank you to Jessica White who without her this event would not have been possible.
