"Love of Kids"

Love of Kids was the words of the night Monday night as the Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association held it's 2016 Hall of Fame inductee banquet at Kirkwood Adams Center.

Al Haskins of First Media was Master of Ceremonies and League President Todd Lockamon gave an update on past field improvements and future plans for more upgrades and thanked everyone involved with this season success and the U9 Southeast Region tournament success.

Dr. Todd Arthur introduced former youth baseball player, coach and current Faith Christian Academy coach Greg Clifton as guest speaker to the crowd.

Three individuals were inducted into the 2016 class of the Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association Hall of Fame.

Otis N. "Nat Vaughan, who in 1972 coached the first Roanoke Rapids all-star team to ever win a State Championship. Vaughan also coached the Weldon Boys Club, Halifax Academy Varsity baseball and Weldon JV Baseball teams.

Winder M. "Toby" Neville, who has been involved in youth baseball as a fundraiser, Treasurer, coach and concessions coordinator for over 20 years.

Edmond Earl Dixon, who coached in the youth baseball program for 16 years and coached the 2005 Under 15 all-star team to a District Championship, State Championship and participated in the Southeast Regional tournament in Florida.
